The Villas

• A home away from home can best describe the feeling of Villa Aquamare . Each of the 8,000 square-foot private villas have five guestrooms, three of them ensuite master bedrooms, spacious living areas, professional-grade kitchens and unobstructed views of the islets in Drake Channel, affording some of the most breathtaking sunsets in the Caribbean.  The layout features expansive living areas, terraces and private pools designed specifically for small groups of friends or family gatherings. When privacy is called for, the spacious bedrooms, with large oceanview balconies, marble bath areas and separate outdoor shower rooms, become comfortable havens for relaxation, solitude and in-room spa treatments.  The photo gallery, elevations, amenities and Villa Compound sections present a more detailed perspective of each villa.

• Aquamare Compound

Aquamare is a secluded enclave comprised of three 8,000 square-foot, five-bedroom villas, each situated on a different elevation and surrounded by lush landscaping for maximum privacy, yet angled to maximize views of the breathtaking Sir Francis Drake Channel.  A separate Concierge House is located on the property to provide attentive guest services at every turn. Guests have the rare option of renting more than one villa, or even all three, to accommodate large gatherings of up to 36 people in one private enclave. Aquamare’s private Beach Park is the ideal setting for destination weddings and small meetings.   .

Spa Services:
The Aquamare Villas were designed to bring a line of signature spa treatments to the privacy and comfort of your room.  Treatments include deep tissue or hot stone massages, as well as detox body wraps. Guests have the freedom to choose where they would like their treatments, be it in the master suite, on the private balcony, perhaps a water-based treatment in the outdoor shower room, or under the shade of a thatched palapa at the waters edge.

The Villa Boats
A Azimut 62-foot power yacht and a Tiara 36-foot cruising yacht are available for rental exclusively to Aquamare guests for private exploration of Virgin Gorda’s geographic splendor and that of the neighboring islands in the B.V.I. chain.

Water sports
All villa guests have complimentary use of kayaks, a catamaran and snorkeling gear for enjoying Virgin Gorda’s famously clear, turquoise waters.

Swim with Dolphins
A fifteen minute boat trip from Aquamare to the neighboring island of Tortola provides guests with an experience of a lifetime─ a swim with dolphins. From a waist deep platform guests can interact, touch and frolic with the dolphins while they perform high energy tricks.

Scuba and the MS Rhone shipwreck
The British Virgin Islands chain is one of the most stunning places on earth for scuba with more that 30 sites to explore, including the famous Rhone shipwreck located near Norman Island.

Concierge
Villa Aquamare on-site concierge will coordinate all services necessary to make your stay a most enjoyable one. From coordinating boat excursions along Sir Francis Drake channel to a sunset brunch, or coordinating in-villa services providing you full support when you need it.

Housekeeping Services
Daily housekeeping is provided seven days a week, including turn-down service every evening.  For your convenience, laundry service is also provided.

Wine and grocery shopping
Guests may pre-order groceries and supplies for delivery prior to arrival.   A selection of fine wines are available upon request.

Private Chefs
Some of the top culinary talent in the Caribbean are available as private chefs by the day or by the week through Tortola’s Culinary School, a program run by the New England Culinary Institute.

Travel information

• Aquamare is located on the scenic western coast of Virgin Gorda at Mahoe Bay  at the scenic Drake Channel.  The island has been called the “jewel of the Caribbean” by leading travel magazines for its sophistication, pristine beaches and privacy. Conde Nast Traveler ranked it the best island in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas in its 2007 World’s Best Awards.  As part of the British Virgin Island archipelago, a valid passport is required for entry into the Island.
• By air – A 40 minute private charter from San Juan, Puerto Rico is the most convenient way to get to the Island. Non-stop flights to San Juan are available from the main U.S. hubs including Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
• Travel from St. Thomas is also available through commercial flights.
• Travel from Tortola is a 15 minute boat ride from the airport pier to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. Tortola’s runway allows for private jet landings. Charters and water taxis are coordinated by Aquamare’s Concierge.
• Ground transportation – Aquamare is pleased to arrange car rental and taxi services during your stay.
